Terms of Use

MeeTiPi is an app for organising shared life among close ones, in a shared space called a "home" (a "Tipi"): messaging, shared wallets, chores, lists, sticky notes and polls. These Terms of Use set out the rules for accessing and using the app.
Purpose
These Terms of Use govern access to and use of the MeeTiPi app by anyone who creates an account ("you", "the user"). The service is free and funded by advertising (see “Cookies and trackers”).
Acceptance
By creating an account, you accept these Terms of Use without reservation. If you do not accept them, you must not use MeeTiPi.
The user account
You must provide a valid email address and a password to create an account. You are responsible for keeping your credentials confidential and for any activity carried out from your account. An account may be disabled by an administrator in the event of abusive use of the app.
Data controller
The controller responsible for the personal data collected by MeeTiPi is Mathieu Goulène EI, a French sole proprietor (entrepreneur individuel) trading as MeeTiPi, SIRET 989 429 824 00042. For any question, contact support@meetipi.com.
Data processed and purposes
MeeTiPi processes the data you provide when signing up (name, email, hashed password, date of birth, gender) and the content you create within your homes (chores, expenses, messages, polls), solely to run the service and contact you for account-related needs. Full detail is available in our Privacy policy.
Legal bases
This processing is based on the performance of the contract that binds you to MeeTiPi once your account is created, i.e. providing the service you requested. Displaying personalised ads and using advertising trackers, however, rely on your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.
Retention periods
Your data is kept for as long as your account stays active. If deactivated, it remains on file until you request its erasure (see "Your rights").
Recipients and processors
Your data is only accessible to the members of the homes you join, to the extent needed for the service to work, and to our hosting provider. MeeTiPi also relies on three processors: OpenAI, for the optional visual transformation of your profile photo and home illustrations; Google Firebase Cloud Messaging, for push notifications if you enable them; and Google (AdMob, AdSense), the advertising network that displays the ads funding the service.
Transfers outside the EU
Your data is hosted in Europe. OpenAI and Google (push notifications, advertising) may process some data in the United States, within the limits described above and on the privacy page.
Cookies and trackers
MeeTiPi sets no cookies and uses no audience measurement tool. Your session and preferences (language, theme) are kept in your browser's or device's local storage, never shared with a third party. However, the ads displayed in the app are provided by Google, which may use cookies (web) or your device's advertising identifier (mobile): a Google form asks for your consent before any ad, and you can change your choice at any time from your Profile (“Manage my ad choices”). Without consent, only non-personalised ads are shown; accounts of users under 15 never receive personalised ads.
Security
Your password is stored hashed, never in plain text. Exchanges with the application are encrypted (HTTPS). Access to your data is limited to what is strictly necessary for the service to work.
Your rights
In accordance with the GDPR, you have a right of access, rectification, erasure, restriction and objection over your personal data. To exercise them, write to support@meetipi.com — see also our Privacy policy.
Your home and its content
A home is a shared space created and managed by its members, in particular by the Home Admin(s), who handle its administration (approving membership requests, revoking members, promoting other members). You are solely responsible for the content you post in a home — messages, expenses, chores, lists, sticky notes, polls: MeeTiPi exercises no prior editorial control over this content.
Intended use
MeeTiPi is intended for private use among people who genuinely share a space or a life together. You agree not to post unlawful content, not to impersonate someone else, and not to use the app for purposes unrelated to organising your home's life.
Expense tracking is not a payment service
Wallets and shared expense tracking are an internal ledger, entered manually by members: MeeTiPi does not process, hold or transfer any real funds. A reimbursement recorded in the app is only a declarative record; the actual transfer must be carried out separately, by another means, between the members concerned.
Intellectual property
The MeeTiPi app, its brand, design and code are the property of its publisher. Content you post in a home remains your property; you grant MeeTiPi the right to host it and display it to the other members of that home, solely to the extent necessary for the service to function.
Availability and evolution of the service
MeeTiPi is a service that keeps evolving: features may be added, changed or removed without notice. We strive to keep the app available, without guaranteeing uninterrupted or error-free access.
Termination
You may stop using MeeTiPi at any time. Deleting your account is self-service, directly from the app (Profile page), with no administrator involved: it is immediate and irreversible after a double confirmation (see the Account Deletion page). The publisher may otherwise suspend or disable an account in the event of a breach of these Terms of Use.
Liability
MeeTiPi is provided "as is". The publisher cannot be held liable for disputes between members of a home (unevenly split expenses, chores left undone, content posted by a member), nor for data loss resulting from abnormal use of the service.
Governing law
These Terms of Use are governed by French law. Any dispute concerning their interpretation or performance falls under the jurisdiction of the competent courts, failing an amicable resolution.
